Today is my parent’s 39th wedding anniversary. It’s wild, I know. They have been together for pretty much half of their lives and they genuinely still like each other, which is remarkable/amazing/admirable. They are, by far, the nicest, warmest, most loving people ever and I don’t know how they haven’t killed me at some point or another. HA!
I have my mom & dad to thank for everything I ever learned in the kitchen, as well as the overwhelming sweet tooth that takes over my life. I can’t begin to take credit for that as my mother was the one who taught me how to make my first meal at 12 years old.
I think it’s pretty incredible that after nearly four decades, three kids and a heck of a lot of trials and tribulations under their belts, phyl & al still enjoy each other’s company and, somehow, ours. Even at 26, 35 and 37, my siblings and I can certainly still be a handful.
As my wedding rapidly approaches, I thank them for setting the best example for what marriage is all about.
Oh and I’m (attempting) to send them dessert tonight for their anniversary dinner. You didn’t think this blog wouldn’t be dessert related, now did you?
