a weekend full of brides (to be)

this weekend was chock full of busy bridal things. (perhaps a little too busy..i'm home sick today with some kind of tornado of a cold/flu)..but back to the bride stuff... one of my bffs got engaged on saturday (YAY!) and sunday, we celebrated my friend laura's bridal shower. Laura LOVES tea, tea parties, tea cakes..all things related to tea. so it seemed only fitting to celebrate her wedding with a bridal tea party. Mere made the sweetest teacup candles and we had little tea sandwiches, snacks and i baked an assortment of sweets that were tea party appropriate, including lemon lavender poundcake, cranberry orange scones and cupcake tower, in lieu of a traditional cake, filled with earl grey cupcakes with lemon buttercream. (we skipped the "showers of happiness" writing, as well).
