you may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one

One of my many lifelong dreams (along with visiting Alaska, writing a novel and going on a wild safari) is to open a bakery, in particular, a cupcake and cookie bakery that offers delicious coffee beverages and milk infusions (think chocolate-coconut milk or strawberry-vanilla milk). However, in the grand scheme of things, bakeries require a generous portion of your life and, somewhere in between planning a wedding, buying a new home and squeezing in time for a social life, I am just not there.
But maybe, just maybe, as my life continues to take me in various directions....a bakery on wheels would present itself to be a better option. Oh yes, I said it. A treat truck, people.
I religiously follow this site: www.followthatcupcake.com. OBSESSED. Granted, I live in Philadelphia where Buttercream rules the streets with its delicious treats, however, as I am forever a Jersey girl at heart and Bill and I are planning a move back to the Garden State, why not take over there?
Here is my tentative business plan:
-Buy an old food truck. (I’m Italian. Someone I know can get me a deal on one of these babies.)
-I’ll bake the cupcakes, which I will name after my friends who inspired their flavors. For instance, the Miguel, a lemon cupcake with coconut frosting and toasted coconut garnish.
- Hire my retired father-in-law and my own soon to be retired father to drive the truck.
- Recruit my darling little Laura (Earl Grey cake with Lavender icing) to help me sell the cupcakes.
- Have my friend, Meredith (White cake with Strawberry filling and White Chocolate Fluff icing), of That’s the Plan, organize some PR and promoting event.
- Hit the streets of business complexes, town centers, etc.
- Make a killing doing what I love.

....alright, so maybe this plan will need some tweaks. But there's nothing wrong with little dreaming, is there?

  1. You can totally make it happen girlfriend! I started my own photography business when I moved back down here to MD, and taking some business classes really gave me the confidence and organization to really make it happen. Let me know if I can help with your advertising/design/logo/photos!

p.s. why is your font so small?

  2. Yayyyyyyy New Jersey! You better open this cupcake truck around Hudson County so 1. we can be reunited at last and 2. so the world will be saved from the horror that is CakeBoss.

I love everything about this idea! You will be like Mr. Softee for adults! This summer at the shore I learned that adults look creepy standing in line waiting for a Screwball from the ice cream truck. There is definitely a market ;) You should seriously look into this!

You have the plan so my only question is ... what's my flavor? Please include some gummies!! :)
