i love to bake all year round, but Thanksgiving really kicks off baking season for me! I look forward to baking pies, cakes, cookies and other various treats in abundance and passing them off to my family, friends and co-workers.
For the past three years, I have joined Bill's family for dessert on Thanksgiving after stuffing myself into a turkey-gravy-mashed potato-and-stuffed mushroom coma with my own family and I, of course, always bring some kind homemade treat (last year's chocolate raspberry cheesecake was a pretty big success!)
This year, I'm bringing a pumpkin pie with crunchy cranberry topping, using a recipe courtesy of my not-so-secret crush, Tyler Florence.
How delicious does this look? I may add a layer of crushed pecans to the bottom layer of the crust before adding the pumpkin filling for an extra treat. YUM!
