carmine's

Yes, I know this blog is dedicated to delicious desserts and treats, but I have to share my amazing, delicious, wonderful dining experience that I enjoyed on Sunday evening. This year, for his big 2-7, Bill wanted to take a limo into New York and go to Carmine’s restaurant. For anyone who hasn’t been, Carmine’s serves strictly family-style portions and the food is seriously out of this world. I grew up in the same house as my seriously Italian grandmother, who made the most outstanding gravy (yes, gravy. Not sauce, bitches) and can be lukewarm about chain Italian restaurants. And yes, I am aware that this makes me sound like a total snob. However, our entire meal was fantastically delicious and Carmine’s did not disappoint me.
It was the perfect evening of delicious food and wonderful family. Essentially, what Italians are all about.
And I’d like to take this opportunity to thank God for Lactaid pills. They are, indeed, my Christmas miracle.
A few photos from our lovely evening:
rigatoni pomodoro with proscuitto. Porterhouse steak (the birthday boy's request). Chicken parm. Veal Scallopine Marsala. DELICIOUS. DELICIOUS DELICIOUS.

note: the empty plate. obviously, very pleased.

me and my sweetheart.
